About Shonan High School
Shonan High School is a Kanagawa Prefectural High School located in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Founded in 1921, it boasts a history of over 100 years. It is one of Kanagawa Prefecture's priority schools for academic excellence and advancement. In 2024, the school's university acceptance rate included 20 students admitted to the University of Tokyo, 12 to Kyoto University, 24 to Hitotsubashi University, 14 to Tokyo Institute of Technology (now Tokyo University of Science), 20 to Hokkaido University, 12 to Tohoku University, and 4 to Osaka University. The school's culture emphasizes freedom and independence. Club activities are also thriving, with many students participating in athletic and cultural clubs. School events are also popular, with the school's sports festival, often referred to as "Japan's No. 1 sports festival," generating significant excitement. The school is a 7-minute walk from Fujisawa-Honmachi Station on the Odakyu Enoshima Line and a 20-minute walk from Fujisawa Station on the JR Tokaido Line.
