Techno-pop trio Yellow Magic Orchestra helped blaze the trail for Japanese musicians on the world stage. Fittingly, the first edition of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, the country's largest international music awards, honored the group with the "SYMBOL OF MUISC AWARDS JAPAN 2025" and held a special tribute concert on May 20, 2025 at the Kyoto International Conference Center to celebrate the band's music and show just how far reaching its influence has been.

"MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN A Tribute to YMO - SYMBOL OF MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2025" featured a host band led by guitarist Hiroshi Takano and an assortment of skilled players. They joined a lineup of special guests from Japan and beyond, all of whom have been creatively shaped by the work of Yellow Magic Orchestra, as they covered the trio's classics, reminding of the group's timeless quality.
