Hello everyone.
Welcome to Dragon Bocchi's channel.

Today, we'll be introducing Koroen, a former amusement park in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

In 1907 (Meiji 40), Koroen Amusement Park, said to be one of the largest in the Kansai region at the time, opened just beyond the current JR line and Hankyu Shukugawa Station.

The vast grounds, roughly the size of seven Koshien Stadium, apparently included an amusement park, zoo, museum, hotel, and music stage.

At the same time as the park opened, Hanshin Electric Railway opened Koroen Station, directly operated the zoo, and developed Koroen Beach on the coast, highlighting the aggressive resort development efforts of Hanshin Electric Railway shortly after its founding.

However, due to a decline in visitors, Koroen Amusement Park closed after just six years.
The ever-popular Kohakuen Beach closed in 1965 due to deteriorating water quality, bringing an end to Kohakuen's popularity as a tourist destination. It's now an upscale residential area, one of the Seven Gardens of Nishinomiya (Kohakuen, Koyoen, Kurakuen, Kotoen, Kofuen, Showaen, and Koshien).

Hanshin Kohakuen Station also has many attractions, including its mansion-like station building and verandas on the platforms, so be sure to check it out in the video! 😊
